Internal Training Team Meeting |
| The Need
Part of increasing the capacity of an organization is developing
internal resources for consulting, training, and/or team and large group
facilitation. While there are times when bringing in the external
consultant is useful and even necessary, there are many times when a
competent internal unit could handle the assignment. Some of the benefits
of creating internal units are: long term cost savings, easy and timely
access, assists in developing the organizational culture, and increases
the skill level in working teams.

| Starting a Team - for internal
consulting, training or facilitation |
 |
A consultation can be arranged to help your
organization establish a team or to improve the effectiveness of an
existing team. There are several approaches that can be taken in creating
an internal network. The consultation will help you explore these standard
options and develop a way to move forward that fits your situation.
- An initial consultation of 1 1/2 or 2 days can be
used to explore issues such as: recruiting potential members of the
team, the training process, options for a process of certification for
functioning in the organization, ways of financing the training and
operating costs of a network, decisions on covering costs in the
budget or charging fees for services, the relationship between the
organization's leadership and the team.
- A long-term consultation can be arranged if the
organization would like assistance in the process of training and
establishing a team.
